Responsive CSS Layout Guide

Use modern CSS grid, flexbox, clamp and media queries to create readable layouts.

Responsive design is more than shrinking a desktop screen. Content should reflow naturally across widths and interaction methods.

Fluid containers

Limit long lines of text using max-width, flexible gutters and auto margins. Use responsive grid patterns rather than fixed pixel columns.

Typography that adapts

Choose font sizes and line lengths that remain readable on small devices. clamp() is useful for headings that need a smooth progression.

Validate real breakpoints

Test long labels, zoom, landscape orientation and touch targets. Breakpoints should reflect content behavior rather than only device marketing categories.
